Barbara Joyce Phillips, of Crestview, went to be with her Lord and Savior on Feb. 6, 2013, at the age of 86 years. She was the beloved wife of the late Waytts M. Phillips. Barbara was born on March 29, 1926, in Plymouth, England, to Arthur and Rose Victoria Silvester of Plymouth.

Barbara completed her education in April 1940 at the Caltedown Road Senior Girls High School, where she was valedictorian. She was a survivor of the horrific bombing of her city in World War II.

She was married to Waytts in 1944 and immigrated to the U.S.A. in May 1946 with her baby daughter. She had been a resident of Crestview for 65 years, and retired as a food service manager for the Okaloosa County School Board.

She was predeceased by her beloved husband, Waytts, dearest dad and mum, grandparents, Mark E. and Mary J. Reed, her beloved gran of Plymouth, Charles and Clara Silvester of West Brunswick, England, dear nephew and godson, Mal Smart, brother-in-law, Brian Smart and other loved ones.

She is survived by her loving children, Sherrylle Miller and husband Larry; David Phillips and wife Kathy; Carole Guy and husband Don, all of Crestview, and Roger Phillips of Pensacola; grandchildren, James, Lisa, Angie, Barbara, Don Jr., Jason, Donny and Patty; great-grandchildren, Brandon, Ashley, Morgan, Blake, Cody, Ryan, Allyson, Jakob and Carsyn.

Visitation was at 1 p.m. Feb. 9, at Brackney Funeral Service, Crestview. The funeral service was at 2 p.m. Feb. 9 at the funeral home, with Bro. Raymond Williams officiating. Pallbearers were Ronnie Kelly, Donny Allen Guy, Clarke Barefield, Rick Morgan, Morgan Richardson and Vance Windham.
