Carol Ann Koch was called home by her Lord and Savior Jesus Christ on Saturday, September 16, 2017. Carol was born to Louis and Ruby Jackson on March 25, 1938 in Marshfield, MA. She married Walter D. Koch, Jr on November 16, 1957. They first moved to Fort Walton Beach, FL in 1966. They moved a few more times before finally settling in Ft. Walton Beach in 1992. Those who knew Carol knew she was not able to sit by and watch and was very civic-minded. She was a lifetime member of Beta Sigma Phi (preceptor), League of Woman Voters (past president), NW FL chapter of American Heart Association (past President), Mardi Gras, Choctawhatchee Band parents and boosters, Fort Walton Beach Hospital .Auxiliary (past president, 1st and 2nd Vice president), and volunteered over 11,000 hours of service to the hospital. She also served on Kidd Bayou Oaks HOA, NW FL Republicans club, served on the Town of Cinco Bayou City council from 2001-2017 as a councilman and as mayor pro-tem. She led the "Bible Babes", a small group bible study for 18 years. Carol was also a member of Who's Who and Outstanding Personalities of the South. Carol was named to the Okaloosa County Commission Women's Wall of Honor in 2010. She was a grateful and devoted friend of Bill W. Among her varied and numerous accomplishments, She was most proud of her family. She is predeceased by her parents Louis and Ruby Jackson and her husband of 36 years Walter. She is survived by her brother, Dave (Olive) Jackson, Plantation, FL, her two sons COL (Ret) Mark (Cheri) Koch, Ft. Walton Beach, FL and LTC (Ret) Bruce (Donna) Koch, Chester, VA, daughter, Diana Garner, Ft. Walton Beach, FL and nine grandchildren, Kaitlin Koch, Amber Koch, Justin Koch, Brittney (Jeremy) Falkenau, Kristen (Nathaniel) Crown, Shelby Koch, Sadie Garner, EM2 Peter Koch and Lydia Garner. She had a nephew Doug (Tammy) Jackson and two nieces Denise (Simon) Sunderland and Nancy Jackson. A memorial service will be held on Friday, September 29, 2017 at Westminster Presbyterian Church located at 2 Woodham Avenue, Fort Walton Beach, FL. Visitation will be from 10:00am to 11:00am with the service immediately following from 11:00am to 12:00pm. In Lieu of flowers, donations may be made in memory of Carol A.
