Daniel "Dan" Charles Black, 65, of Holt, died Saturday, Sept. 21, 2013. He was born March 27, 1948 in Columbus, Ohio.

After graduating from Linden McKinley High School, class of 1966, Dan enrolled in the United States Air Force in 1967 and faithfully served in active duty until September of 1993.

He was always a loving and devoted husband, father, grandfather and great-grandfather. Dan believed that a stranger was just a friend he hadn't met yet. In his spare time, he enjoyed watching his grandchildren participate in the many sports and school activities they were involved with.

His parents, Charles and Olga Black; one brother, Bob Black; and one sister, Linda Sieg, preceded him in death.

Survivors are his loving wife of 46 years, Cindie Black; three sons, Frank, Brian and wife Amy, and Eric and wife Michelle; eight grandchildren, Sara, Samantha, Ashley, Alec, Nathanel, Jessica, Caitlin and Kylie; two great-grandchildren, Ally and Brantlee; and two brothers-in-law, Greg Goldsmith and wife Julie, and Jeff Goldsmith.

A private memorial service will be held later at Live Oak Park Memorial Cemetery.

Arrangements are under the direction of Davis-Watkins Crestview Memorial. Share memories and condolences with the family at www.daviswatkins.com and http://obits.crestviewbulletin.com.
