James A. Davis, age 98, passed away Monday August 28, 2017 in Niceville, Florida. He was born in the Northern Part of Louisiana in 1918 to Louis and Jena Bessie (Tilley) Davis. Jim was a retired Major from the United States Air Force after 21 years of services. After retirement from the military he returned to school to receive his Bachelor's degree and taught math and science in the Freeport area of Florida for 16 years. Jim was a member of the Retired Officers club and the Shalimar Methodist Church. In his spare time Jim enjoyed playing golf and bridge. Jim leaves his loving memories to his wife of 46 years Norma Davis; his son William Halans; two daughters Omega McCullers (Douglas) and Jimmie Marie Adams (Steve); grandchildren Judd McCullers (Heidi), Teresa Green, and Jason Adams (Baylee); great granddaughter Sydney Adams; as well as a dear friend who sat with him every night in the memory center Sidonia Abdulghani. Family will receive friends 4:00 – 6:00 pm, Tuesday September 5, 2017 at Emerald Coast Funeral Home. Funeral services will be 1:00 pm, Wednesday, September 6, 2017 at the funeral home. Interment will follow at Beal Memorial Cemetery.
