Shirley Rachel Fretterd, 81 years old, was called home on Friday, March 22nd, 2019.
Shirley was born on April 2nd, 1937 to the late Albert Fongemie and the late Bertha Lajoie Fongemie. She grew up in Van Buren, Maine. There, she excelled in academics and graduated at the top of her class in high school. She continued her education in Portland, Maine at the Mercy Hospital School of Nursing where she became a Registered Nurse and practiced Nursing for many years after, mostly in ICU/CCU and Step Down. Shirley was also amazing with her knowledge of gardening and numerous arts and crafts, which she gladly shared with family and friends.
Shirley is survived by her loving children, son David Beaulieu; daughter Lisa (Janie) Cobb, and son Jean (Bernie) Beaulieu and their families. She was affectionately known as Memere by her grandchildren and great grandchildren. In addition to her parents, Shirley was preceded in death by her husband Robert C. Fretterd and her brothers, Albert (June) Fongemie and Claude (Be) Fongemie.
A Celebration of Life Service will be held at 12:30 p.m. on May 5th, 2019 at Our Lady of Victory Parish, 550 Adams Drive, Crestview, Florida.
