Jeremiah Reynolds, age 66, of Crestview, was called home to be with our Lord, Wednesday, Feb., 25, 2009. Funeral services were held Saturday, Feb. 28 at Evelenar Missionary Baptist Church with Rev. Fred Young Jr. officiating and with McKinnie Funeral Home directing.
Born and raised in Crestview, Jerry, as he was lovingly called by his family and friends, was the youngest of 10 children. He received his education at Carver-Hill High School, where he is remembered for playing football. Jerry was employed offshore for many years as a chef for Oil Fields Productions. He enjoyed backyard barbecues and especially spending time with his childhood friend, Roger Bess.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Bartow and Ola Reynolds; brothers, James Otis, Nathaniel and Roosevelt; sisters Lillie and Minerva.
Jeremiah leaves to cherish his memories, his loving wife Mary; grandson, Jediah Thomas of Crestview, who held a very special place in his heart; stepsons Calvin (Princess) Worlds of Crestview; Patrick (Melanie) Worlds of Tallahassee and Aroine (Sharee) Worlds of Niceville; stepdaughter Crystal Thomas of Crestview; sons, John Reynolds, Jerry (Jo Ann) Reynolds of Fort Walton Beach; daughters Angie, Kim, and Cindy Reynolds, all of Panama City; special children, Tyshawn Skanes, Carmelita Houghton, Vanessa Randolph, Frankie Skanes, and Joseph Skanes of Crestview; brothers, Otto (Betty) Reynolds and Ray Reynolds Sr. of Crestview; sister, Flossie Couch of Crestview; numerous grandchildren, great-grandchildren, nieces, nephews and other relatives and friends.
